List of Words (Learned) in 2010
During the outage, I realized that I have come across a few words this year that I quite love.  Here are some of them: Antinomy (as it applies to literature) 1: a contradiction between two apparently equally valid principles or between inferences correctly drawn from such principles 2: a fundamental and apparently unresolvable conflict or contradiction <antinomies of beauty and evil, freedom...

State Department To Columbia University Students:... →
Again, this is an overly sensational headline.  Were one to read this seemingly outrageous story, it becomes clear that students are being warned about discussing Wikileaks because of the political fallout one might experience in looking for a job.

I Got Healthcare
To preface, you should know that my mother is a dyed-in-the-wool Republican.
*Ring-Ring*
Me: "Hello?"
Mom: "What is your SSN?"
Me: "Hold on..." ~move to other room~ "Why?"
Mom: "My company is changing up their health care. You can get coverage till you're 26."
Me: almost snickering "First off, that is because of Obama. And my SSN is ###-##-####."
Mom: "Ok, wait, what was the first part?"
Me: "That coverage is because of Obamacare."
Mom: "No it isn't."
Me: "Yes ma'am, it is, it was part of the health care overhaul bill passed earlier this year."
Mom: "...mmm, ok. Say that again and I'll take back the health care."
Me: "Ok, love you mom."
Mom: "Love you too, bye."

December 2nd is Treating Me Right
To preface, over the past few weeks I have had a lot of work but I have been taking it in stride.  With the exception of one paper and a final, I am nearly in the clear for the semester.  And then today happens… I don’t work Thursdays and have only one class.  Given that I have no school work I must do, today gets to be a rest day.  It is a beautiful day outside to boot.  On top of...

librarysciences asked: I just wanted to add that because of the pattern of stages of sleep, sleeping 8 hours doesn't necessarily mean you're getting enough REM. I can't really comment, as I know next to nothing about your sleeping habits, but just be careful not to use that as your only qualifier.
